Griselda: The Movie

“Griselda: The Movie” is an autobiographical film that chronicles the director’s alter-ego, Griselda, and her experiences as a queer Latina performance artist dating in NYC. The audience is invited to witness Griselda’s whirlwind of a dating experience with 30 eccentric people, played by hired actors, in this documentary-in-a-mockumentary. In the process of filming these performances in public, the normally guarded and indignant Griselda begins to unravel her past, ultimately exposing the non-linear process of self-discovery.

As she begins her MFA at Columbia University, she auditions actors to perform scripts of the 30 dates she has been on in the last 3 years. Below is an excerpt from the auditions for “Griselda: The Movie.”
